The International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF)

The need for the IKMF originally arose in the early 1990’s, when the teaching of Krav Maga (KM) was starting to spread beyond the borders of Israel. At that time the initial KM Association was divided and not functioning efficiently due to dissension amongst the higher graded instructors. As a result, Imi (the founder of Krav Maga) asked Eyal Yanilov, and the chief instructor of Krav-Maga, to assist him in forming a new International KM Federation.

The Israeli Krav Maga Association was formed by Imi Lichtenfeld ( Sde-Or ) and a group of his students on Oct 22, 1978. The expressed purpose of the Association was to create a public civilian organizational structure to support practitioners of the Israeli Krav Maga.

Krav Maga Worldwide (KMWW)

In January of 1999, Darren Levine and several of the organizing members of Krav Maga formed Krav Maga Worldwide Enterprises to help the Krav Maga Association of America, Inc. expand and promote Krav Maga in The United States and around the world. Continuing demand from law enforcement agents and civilians prompted Darren Levine and his top students to open the Krav Maga National Training Center, a 6000 square foot facility in west Los Angeles.
