Darren S. Levine (born April 3, 1960 in Los Angeles, California) is a prosecutor for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. He is become very prominent in the Krav Maga community as he had help popularize Krav Maga especially in the United States. In 1981, Darren Levine was part of the first group from outside of Israel to train in Krav Maga. While training in Israel, Darren became friends with Imi Lichtenfeld and as a result Imi traveled to Los Angeles in 1982 to stay with Darren and continue his training. Darren Levine is one of only two recipients of a Krav Maga Founder’s Diploma awarded by Imi Lichtenfeld before his death in 1998. At the time, Levine was the highest ranking instructor in the United States , and he has training centers across the United States most notably in West Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, and Philadelphia. Krav Maga Worldwide schools can be found a number of countries around the world. Darren Levine has also co-author a number of books with John Whitman and Ryan Hoover of Complete Krav Maga , Black Belt Krav Maga, and Krav Maga for Beginners.
